Fremantle Post Office

Project Outline

Located in Market Street it was designed by Hillson Beasley of the Public Works Department, opened in 1907, and has undergone renovations in 1929 and 1987. The building is a two-story brick structure reflecting the Romanesque style, it was initially part of the convict establishment, used first as offices that later became the post office. The heritage significance of the Fremantle Post Office lies in its architectural design and historical role it will now have a new life with a new hospitality tenant.
