Project Outline

Located in the heart of the Perth CBD, City Canteen at Enex is the city’s newest social and dining destination — designed to elevate everyday experiences with vibrant interiors, fresh food offerings, and panoramic city views over St George’s Terrace.

With over 400 seats across a bustling dining area and the relaxed Central Lounge, this project transforms a traditional food court into a multifunctional urban space that invites connection, collaboration, and rejuvenation.

Lighting Design That Enhances Comfort and Wellbeing

Mondoluce collaborated on the lighting supply for this project, supporting KLD’s considered lighting design. The space features iGuzzini Laser Blade XS darklighter downlights, delivering high-performance general lighting while maintaining a warm, inviting atmosphere ideal for city professionals and visitors.

A standout element of the project is the large stretch ceiling that creates a skylight effect above the main dining area. This was paired with Unios Aeon Flex Pixel and advanced lighting controls to simulate the natural changes of daylight, contributing to a human-centric lighting environment. By aligning with circadian rhythms, the design enhances visual comfort, supports wellness, and improves focus — even in an indoor setting.

Sustainable Urban Design Meets Innovation

City Canteen is part of Enex Perth’s $40 million redevelopment, transforming the site into a future-focused urban-commercial village. The project features Western Australia’s largest solar façade system, along with 30+ curated retailers and next-generation sustainability features.
