Project Outline

Mondoluce collaborated on the lighting design for Revival Studios, a multi-program creative venue in Perth that combines barbering, fashion retail, café culture, DJ events, and community functions within a single cohesive tenancy.

The lighting approach was developed to support the venue’s evolving identity throughout the day and night, balancing functionality, atmosphere, and architectural expression across the 32-metre-long commercial fit-out. Warm 3000K lighting was selected throughout the project to create a welcoming and intimate environment while reinforcing the studio’s contemporary aesthetic.

The design strategy focused on defining each programmatic zone through carefully selected luminaires while maintaining a unified visual language across the tenancy.

In the barbering and event areas, the suspended Inter Round Linear Light (360° Linear Suspended) by Unios was used to create a strong architectural statement while providing soft, even illumination suited to both grooming tasks and social gatherings. The circular suspended forms help anchor the space visually and contribute to the venue’s immersive atmosphere during events and performances.

Within the café zone, the Ribbon 360 Neon LED pendant by Sphera was positioned above the counter to introduce a softer decorative element. The feature lighting enhances the café experience by creating warmth, visual focus, and a sense of intimacy within the shared environment.

For the retail area, EQ Tracklights by Unios were utilised to provide flexible and targeted illumination for merchandise displays. The adjustable track system allows the space to adapt to changing retail layouts and product presentations while maintaining clean visual integration with the overall architectural design.

The result is a layered lighting scheme that supports the venue’s multifunctional nature, transitioning seamlessly from daytime retail and café operations to evening events and social activation, while reinforcing Revival Studios’ identity as a contemporary community-focused destination.
