Aubin Grove Station

Project Outline

The Public Transport Authority and Main Roads worked together on the planning of the Aubin Grove Station upgrade.

The upgrade of Aubin Grove Station aims to ease traffic congestion on the freeways between Perth and Mandurah. Subsequently, Russell Road intersection and station car park access were also a focus.

MHM Engineers delivered an energy efficient lighting scheme using LED luminaires. The lighting in all car parks are to Australian Standards. Ensuring occupancy safety and security in addition to minimising spill light onto the adjacent properties was an important consideration.

The Cree LEDway street and area light is utilised throughout the two car parks to achieve a precise area coverage resulting in minimal wasted light. With high colour rendering properties and clean, white light, these luminaires provide pedestrians with security whilst improving CCTV footage. Miniaturised back light shields on the LED optics result in minimal light spill on adjacent properties of the car park.

The Cree XSPW wall pack and Cree 304 Series canopy light are used along the covered overpass subsequently providing safe movement between the car parks and the station platform.

The asymmetric light distribution of the XSPW ensured maximum light coverage along walkways with minimal light fittings.
