Project Outline

The landmark ANZAC House building located on St Georges terrace overlooking the Government House gardens was formally opened by the Honourable Kim Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia, and State Premier Mark McGowan on November 12, 2020.

ETC were engaged by RSLWA to design and document the electrical and vertical transportation tender packages and provide assistance during construction.

The purpose-built innovative facility is a one-stop shop to improve the delivery of health, advocacy, welfare and transition services to veterans and their families comprising:

  • Basement parking facilities;
  • Ground level lobby and retail spaces;
  • Function room and bar complete with commercial kitchen;
  • Medical clinic providing day surgery procedures, specialist consultancies, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology and the like;
  • Two levels of open plan offices;
  • Three levels of function room/ceremonial hall spaces.

The electrical services design to the building delivers the following key criteria:

  • Warm inviting lighting design serving the many internal areas of the building;
  • External lighting featuring key building and commemorative elements;
  • Access control and CCTV systems enhancing building security;
  • Highly efficient installation to minimise long-term running costs;
  • AV and room booking systems to facilitate the efficient use of available spaces;
  • Power supply security in the form of standby diesel generation.

The lighting brief for the project was to deliver a functional and efficient lighting installation, whilst raising the profile and presence of the building along the Terrace. Working with lighting suppliers Mondoluce, ETC selected a Red, White and Blue LED system to illuminate the eastern and western facades, representing Army, Navy and Air Force colours. The roof mounted flags and RSL Emblem were illuminated with LED fixtures to feature on the Perth skyline at night.

ETC, along with Mondoluce are very proud to be associated with ANZAC House project and the contribution to serving veteran’s needs.
