Project Outline

Lucy Luu is located in the bustling suburb of Mount Hawthorn, Western Australia. This exciting venue offers a unique experience to its patrons with its adventurous Asian fusion share plates, playful cocktails, premium wine list, and good times.

The designers have successfully combined modern and traditional elements to create a space that is fun, kitsch, casual and adventurous, Lucy Luu is a small bar with big flavours. The venue fuses South-East Asian heritage with local WA produce which is reflected through an eclectic interior and a mix of found objects.

Working alongside Mata design studio, a careful selection of luminaires was required to complement the rich and daring interior design.

The Particle Accent and Particle Focus were selected for their low-profile, engineered for precise accent lighting.

The Particle Accent’s asymmetrical illumination and adjustable 30° tilt make it ideal for illuminating artwork or artefacts. The lens technology allows for control over the beam angle, creating a comfortable and unobtrusive lighting solution.

The Particle Focus downlight’s pinspot design provides low-glare lighting solution for navigation applications. It focuses light on areas of interest without overwhelming the space, perfect to create a solace atmosphere. With a small aperture, the Particle Focus seamlessly blends with the ceiling space.

The Eclipse series boasting a miniaturised slim profile, and the Glide S as the go-to option, with surface-mount, recessed and angled variations. The XL is suspendable profile with high output, featuring the “Invisimount” accessory that integrate suspension and power wire for a clean aesthetic, while the IP67 is perfect for facade and outdoor applications.

Overall, we were able to achieve a great result for the project ensuring the interior design is the hero.
