Joseph Banks Secondary College Stage 2

Project Outline

Joseph Banks College Stage 2 builds on the success Stage 1 previously constructed in 2015. The new facilities feature two new learning community buildings, Lecture Theatre with tiered seating enhance the students’ learning experience.

Additions also included, a new Visual Arts and Media building with the latest audio/video recording studios, art and media classrooms, a dance studio and a new student services wing. Other notable expansion to the school facility includes a commercial kitchen and food studio and a new STEM workshop.

Recognised as one of the most well equipped public schools in WA, the College can now accommodate 1450 students. The electrical design for both Stage 1 and 2  was undertaken by Wood & Grieve Engineers in collaboration with T&Z Architects.

The aim was to use energy saving LEDs throughout this project. In particular, the LimeLite Linear 100 LEDs are used in all classrooms. Their low glare and slim profile, resulting in a modern and functional teaching space. The low glare LimeLite Linear are perfect for teaching environments.

The iGuzzini iSign was a creative lighting solution for the dance studio in conjunction with the LimeLite Ledge uplighter. LimeLite LED panels are installed to the audio/visual recording studios and associated media classrooms as they require uniformity and colour accuracy.

The iGuzzini Laser Blades are used throughout the student services area to discreetly blend in with the raking ceilings while still providing ample light to illuminate the space.
