Mandurah Forum

Project Outline

The complete centre transformation by Vicinity Centres, nearly doubles the size of Mandurah Forum. The updated facility has become a contemporary retail, dining and shopping destination in Western Australia’s second biggest city.

The luminaires put forward by Downer Group in collaboration with Mondoluce, enhance Hames Sharley’s coastal design both inside and out.

The iGuzzini Wow creates interest from the carpark entrance with its compact, minimal design and soft curves. An aesthetically pleasing design was achieved, along with improved energy efficiency, high visual comfort and easy maintenance due to thoughtful selection. This combination of features providing consequently longer lasting luminaires.

The Intralux Kove LED family utilises both Tridonic and Philips LED technology. The ultimate in high performance indirect LED pelmet/cove lighting.

The interior of the centre is lined with Intralux Kove, softly highlighting the ceiling throughout. This choice of lighting results in a high level of perfectly uniform indirect light, which opened the malls. The pelmet lighting system supplied by Mondoluce through Intralux, offered a substantial saving in installation (labour) time and effort. The easy maintenance of this system going forward was also a big advantage to the client providing more cost savings.

The installation by Perth artist Alister Yiap’s displayed on the corner of Pinjarra Road and Mandurah Road, features painted concrete and laser cut aluminium, creating a screen reminiscent of light reflecting off water. The installation is perfectly complemented by discrete grazing light from the iGuzzini Linealuce RGBW, providing minimum energy consumption and maximum longevity.

The new-look Mandurah Forum reflects the coastal character of Mandurah and connects the culture and community.
