Project Detail

West Australian Ballet
West Australian Ballet Centre

"It is always a privilege to work with a grand old piece of architecture such as this. The former WA Institute for the Blind building features generous proportions, elegant pieces of original detailing and a quality of natural light which helps to create exquisite spaces.  It is a stunning new home for the WA Ballet which finally gives them full size practice studios to stretch out and Jete.

A great deal of work goes into a ballet production. Designing for the adaptive reuse of this heritage building was similarly complex, with the technical and functional demands of backstage works, and performance and beauty required out front.

The Mondoluce team were a key to the success of this project by ensuring the choice of lighting put the best features of this culturally significant building, and its tenants, on show."
