West Australian Ballet Centre
Project Outline
The former WA Institute for the Blind building features generous proportions, elegant pieces of original detailing. The quality of natural light also helps to create exquisite spaces. It’s a stunning new home for the WA Ballet which gives them full size practice studios to stretch out and jete.
A great deal of work goes into a ballet production. Designing for the adaptive reuse of this heritage building was similarly complex, with the technical and functional demands of backstage works, and performance and beauty required out front.
It is always a privilege to work with a grand old piece of architecture such as this.
