DFO Perth

Project Outline

The new Perth DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) is a discount apparel destination. DFO combines more than 100 specialty retailers with various food and beverage options in close proximity to the Airport.

Vicinity Centres engaged Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick to consult on the design, inspired by aspects of natural and man-made flight.

The luminaires supplied by Mondoluce were designed with minimal glare, subsequently resulting in a pleasant shopping environment. The tenancies utilised Venture high bay LED with a high CRI, resulting in quality colour rendering of the retail merchandise.

Specially selected Unios canister wall lights and downlights are used throughout the amenities areas. The use of these downlights create a cozy atmosphere that complements the warm tones of the interior. The pause pods grouped throughout the premises are accented by Unios Aeon Flex creating an inviting place to sit and re-charge.

To promote a safe environment for unloading equipment, all loading docks and service areas are subsequently well lit with Cree CPY canopy luminaires. Lighting distribution to the open car parking areas is optimised by using the type 5 optics from CREE OSQ area luminaires. The reduction of poles throughout the carpark combined with no upward light spill, was a necessary a consideration. This resulted in minimal light pollution to the neighbouring airport.
